Sunamp receives the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation
Sunamp has received the King’s Award for Enterprise, considered the UK’s most prestigious business award.
The award was officially presented to Sunamp co-founders Andrew Bissell and Susan Lang-Bissell by the Lord-Lieutenant of East Lothian, Mr. Roderick Urquhart, at a company-wide highland games themed celebration event held at Whitekirkhill.
Of the 572 UK Companies that applied for the awards in 2023 only 11 Companies in Scotland were successful after a rigorous judging process. Sunamp has been honoured in the innovation category for its groundbreaking advancements in thermal energy storage technology using phase change materials, which are revolutionising energy efficiency and sustainability.
Speaking at the ceremony the Lord-Lieutenant said: “It is with great pleasure that I present the King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation to Sunamp. Their commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in thermal energy storage is truly commendable. This innovation highlights the incredible talent we have here in East Lothian. Thanks to the foresight of the company’s founders, Andrew Bissell and Susan Lang-Bissell, and their mission to combat climate change and sheer hard work, the whole Sunamp team has helped play a key role in the success of the business.”
